These terms are for volunteers who apply to build tracks for Project Overdrive. They sit next to our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, and the programme itself is described at create.visionforceofficial.com
1. What the programme is
- Volunteers build tracks for Project Overdrive in UEFN, and the team plays, reviews and ships them with them. It is volunteer work, not paid work, and nothing in it is sold
- It is run by hand today. Being approved records a yes; it does not give you tools, keys or access on its own. Someone from the team gets you set up, and when a track is ready a maintainer prepares and ships it with you. There is no self publishing yet
- We never ask for money, keys or account credentials
2. Applying
- You apply at visionforceofficial.com/create/apply from a signed-in account with an email address and a username. The application form does not live on create.visionforceofficial.com, because your sign-in is only visible on visionforceofficial.com
- Only the first question is required: what you want to build. You can also give us a link to your work, your Discord handle, your Epic creator code, the codes of UEFN islands you have published, what you have built before, where you are and roughly how many hours a week you expect to give. The hours are your own estimate and never a commitment
- A person reads every application and we answer every one by email: an acknowledgement when you send it, then our decision. A no comes with a note, so it is never silent
- You have one application. If it is turned down you can send it again after 14 days, and the page tells you the date. You can send it at most three times a day, and the team can see how many times you have applied
- What we keep and who sees it, including the copy emailed to our team inbox, is set out in the Privacy Policy. Your links are only ever opened by a person reviewing your application, in their own browser; our server never visits them
3. After a yes
- Someone from the team reaches out to get you building, on Discord if you gave us a handle, otherwise by email
- You build in UEFN, set up through Meridian, against the preserved build the game runs. While the project is this early, the team may instead ask you to share a track built in the current version of Fortnite, or the code of an island you have already published, and bring it into the game's build themselves
- Track feedback, playtests and the review conversations happen in our public Discord community, so other people will see your work while it is reviewed
- When you use Meridian, the Project Overdrive access terms apply, including what it changes on your computer
4. What we ask of you
- Original work only. Bring your own track work, or tracks you have published yourself and want to transfer. Do not submit anything that copies another creator's work or that you do not have the right to share
- Follow our Community Guidelines in everything you send us and in the conversations around your work
- Epic's own rules for UEFN and for Fortnite islands still apply to anything you build or publish there, and nothing in these terms changes them
- We do not ship anything the team has not reviewed
5. Your tracks
- Your track stays yours. You keep whatever rights you have in your own work
- When you share a track with us for Project Overdrive, you grant Vision Force a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to adapt it to the preserved build, include it in the game, run it on our servers, and show it, its name and images of it on our sites and channels, for as long as the project runs
- We credit you. If you gave us an Epic creator code, it may be shown in Project Overdrive as the track's creator once your track is in ranked rotation. It is used as your name, never for payment
- You can ask us to take a track out of future builds at any time by writing to contact@visionforceofficial.com
6. Leaving
You can stop at any time, and you do not owe us any hours. Tell us if you want your application removed, as the Privacy Policy explains. We may also close the programme, or pause it, at any time
